South Jersey Man Pleads Guilty In Atlantic City Stabbing: Prosecutor

A 39-year-old man from Camden County has pleaded guilty in connection with a stabbing, authorities said.

Darren Petti, of Bellmawr, admitted on Thursday, June 29, to stabbing a 60-year-old Atlantic City man, according ot the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office.

On July 19, 2021, in Atlantic City, police were dispatched to Kentucky and Atlantic avenues for a man having been stabbed. 

Police quickly located a male fitting the description in the rear of the Bus Terminal. 

Police approached Petti and placed him under arrest. A search led police to recover a small black folding knife in the pocket of Petti’s shorts, the prosecutor said.

Petti was subsequently charged on a warrant in connection to the stabbing and has remained incarcerated.

Petti is scheduled to be sentenced on Aug. 10.
